At North Barrie Dental, your privacy matters as much as your smile. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and in our clinic, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal health information in line with Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the standards of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, and any appointment or inquiry details you choose to share when you book online, fill in a form, call, or email us.
Information we need to provide care: when you become a patient, we collect details such as your date of birth, medical and dental history, and insurance information.
Information collected automatically: when you visit our website, tools such as Google Analytics may record your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view. This helps us understand how the site is used. It does not identify you personally.
How we use your information
To respond to your questions and appointment requests, and to send appointment confirmations and reminders.
To provide, coordinate, and document your dental care, and to process insurance claims and payments.
To improve our website and services, keep accurate records, and meet our legal and professional obligations.
When we share information
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We only share information with your consent or where the law permits or requires it. For example, we may share it with your insurer to process a claim, with a specialist or dental lab involved in your treatment, with trusted service providers that help run our website, booking, and analytics (such as Google Analytics), or with regulators when required.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies, small files stored in your browser, to remember preferences and measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features may be less convenient.
How we protect your information
Patient records are stored securely, and only team members who need them to provide your care can access them. We keep records for the length of time required by our regulatory college, then dispose of them securely.
No website or online service can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send detailed health information through website forms or email. Call us instead.
Your rights and choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted where the law allows. You may also withdraw your consent to certain uses, subject to legal and professional requirements.
If you have a concern we haven't resolved, you can contact the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
