Service

TMJ & jaw pain in Barrie.

Jaw pain, clicking, headaches and clenching can all point to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). We assess what’s causing your discomfort and offer treatment to ease it, such as a custom night guard.

Good for

  • Jaw pain, clicking, popping or locking
  • Clenching or grinding, especially at night
  • Tension headaches or ear pain linked to the jaw
  • Worn or chipped teeth from grinding

What to expect

  1. Assessment

We examine your jaw, bite and muscles, and ask about your symptoms and habits.

  2. A treatment plan

Options may include a custom night guard, bite adjustments and simple habits to relax overworked muscles.

  3. Review

We follow up on how you feel and adjust the plan if needed.

How a night guard helps

A custom guard, made from impressions of your teeth, cushions your bite while you sleep. It takes strain off the jaw muscles and protects your teeth from grinding.

Common questions

All FAQs
What causes TMJ pain?

Common causes include clenching or grinding, stress, an uneven bite and jaw injury. Your assessment helps us find what’s behind your symptoms.

Is a custom guard better than a store-bought one?

A custom guard is made to fit your teeth exactly, so it’s more comfortable, stays in place and protects your teeth better than a one-size-fits-all guard.

Do I need a night guard?

If you grind or clench at night, a custom-fitted guard protects your teeth and can reduce jaw strain. We’ll tell you if it’s a good fit.

Ready when you are
